What do you want to know that will improve your practice?  Our professional development opportunities are designed to bring educators together for practical, collaborative, sustaining and transformational learning.  

At the Upper Valley Graduate School of Education, we believe that professional education is most meaningful and useful when the experience leads to practice that is demonstratively better   UVGSE offers a number of opportunities for professional development leading to graduate credit. 

For school teams of five or more, a discount may be applied to each participant’s tuition.

Winter 2018 Opportunities for Educators

Inquiry into Teaching for Understanding (2 and 3 Credit Options)

In this inquiry, you will plan differentiated and subject-specific units that engage students in thinking and understanding.  The Foundations option offers additional exploration of the research as it informs and analyzes to improve your practice.  Begins Thursday, January 4. Read more

The move to project-based learning design has the potential to increase engagement and application of student learning in real world circumstances.  During our time together, we will examine the key components of succesful project-based learning and how to integrate it into your practice.  Begins Thursday, January 4. Read more

Inquiry into Instructional Coaching and Mentoring (2 and 3 Credit Options)

In this inquiry, you will learn best practices in instructional coaching and collegial analysis of evidence such as effective coaching conversations, collaborative planning, observing instruction, and analyzing student work.  Begins Wednesday, January 10. Read more

Inquiry into Data-Based Curricular Leadership (2 and 3 Credit Options)

Man y teacher and school leaders share a common frustration: How to transform mountains of data on student achievement into an action plan that will improve instruction and increase student learning. In this inquiry, you will bolster your understanding of educational systems, roles, and practical statistics in order to collect and effectively use student learning data from your educational environment to lead instructional and curricular change efforts.  Begins Saturday, January 27.
